Install new head light on T@ 89

Postby Ted on Tue Jun 16, 2009 7:41 am

I did install HID lights on my T@ but i wasn't happy with the result. I have a GSXR mounted with HID lights and it is like riding in day light.
The bad point is that those lights cost 32 500 pesos (16 250 pesos each). But anyway it is the price for 2 good quality HID kits and in that case, it is the whole light with the HID stuff integrated inside so only 2 wires stick out.
First i try the lights from Baja just make sure they work and so far it seams pretty good. First is the road light then second is the spot light:

Installed the lights on a bracket then made a big hole.

Protect the precious things and add spacers

Plaster.... i do what i can.

Ply wood to reduce the amount of plaster i will have to remove.

Some more plaster.... The doctor said :" it's not a disease "

Made the form and dig in the plastic caus of the fiber thickness.

Then resin and fiber glass.

Took the plaster off from inside removing the plastic that wasn't in contact with the fiber then added 2 layers of fiber glass from inside. A bit of mastic and that's it.

I did not have time to paint it as i had to go back to work so i left it in a car body shop for the painting. The pics of the stuff finished will be in about 3 weeks time when i'll get back home.
It took me 3 days to do that, including the time looking at the resin dry.
